After lengthy consultation on the development’s go-ahead and not a few design changes, Prestatyn Retail Park will finally see six Tubosider attenuation tanks with a total capacity of 630 cubic metres installed by year end.
The five-hectare park will also have a petrol station and car parking for nearly 800 cars, and is expected to create 675 jobs. Contractor Marshall Construction have had regular experience of using Tubosider in recent years, our system once again winning out over crate systems.
The High Street development includes 100,000sq ft of retail floorspace, the renovation of listed buildings and public realm and a convenience retail store for anchor tenant Tesco Stores Limited.
It is expected to open in March 2013 and community leaders are delighted the ambitious plans have finally been approved. A bid to redevelop the site has been on the table in some form for more than 15 years.
Prestatyn North councillor Allan Pennington said: “It is excellent news that building work is finally to go ahead. This has been a very long time coming for the people of Prestatyn. It is going to be very good for the town. The job prospects and impact on Prestatyn in general will be tremendous.”
